Why your views matter

The council is required to consult on the SA as part of the plan making process.

Once adopted the new Local Plan will guide new development in Slough for many years. Consultation is a vital part of producing the Plan. For example it is important those affected by the Local Plan,or with knowledge or interest in it, can be aware of and contribute to the decisions in producing it. Those writing it also benefit from the responses made in the consultation.

What happens next

This consultation has now closed.

The SA and the results of the consultation on it will be used to develop and evaluate the likely effects of the Local Plan and alternatives; consider ways of mitigating adverse effects and maximising potential benefits. To meet the council’s statutory requirements this information will be presented in a Sustainability Appraisal Report that will be published for consultation with the ‘Publication’ version of the Local Plan (Regulation 19).
