Local Validation List for planning applications consultation

Overview

The local planning authority for Slough has prepared a Local Validation List (LVL) for consultation, outlining the documents which need to be submitted with planning applications.

The Local Validation List is a crucial document that ensures the local planning authority receives all the evidence it needs to make informed decisions on whether to grant permission against a planning application. 

The Local Validation List covers all types of planning applications and includes both the national and local requirements.

A local planning authority is required to have a local validation list which does the following:

• The local validation list should provide a user-friendly guide for residents and householders.
• The local validation list should list validation item requirements which are relevant, necessary and material to the application in question.
• The local validation list should provide guidance on the level and type of information required to be submitted with a planning application, to provide a degree of certainty and clarity to assist applicants.
• The local validation list should help ensure that the Council complies with current best practice advice contained in The Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (England) Order (DMPO) 2015 (as amended) and the Planning Practice Guidance (PPG)
• The local validation list should help ensure that the validation requirements are justified and supported by policies in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), the policies in the Council’s adopted Development Plan – Local Plan (2004) and Core Strategy (2008); and any other relevant legislation.

The Council wants your views on the Local Validation List. Comments and views will be considered and help shape the document before it is finalised and adopted by the Council.

This will be used to make decisions in a public forum and the results will be published online and anonymous data may be accessed by third parties to validate the results of the survey.

We will only retain the data collected for as long as is necessary and, after the period determined by our Data Protection Officer, this data will be destroyed in accordance with our IT and Information Security Procedures.
