Draft Slough Economic Growth Strategy
Overview
Slough Borough Council is developing an Economic Growth Strategy to help shape the city’s future. This strategy’s aims are that economic growth benefits everyone, creating opportunities for residents, businesses, and communities, setting a clear vision for 2050. We are looking for your views to develop the Slough Economic Growth Strategy further.
By 2050, Slough will be a connected, caring, inclusive and sustainable town where current and future residents can access opportunity, prosper and live healthier lives, and where every neighbourhood shares in benefits from growth, helping to reduce inequality and eliminate barriers. It will be a place where people choose to live, work and build their future.
Slough’s economy will build on its nationally significant strengths to create more good jobs, clearer and more visible skills and progression pathways for young people, and greater opportunities for local businesses and residents. Employers and anchor institutions will play a strengthened role in creating local opportunity and securing a better deal for Slough. Investment, innovation and regeneration will improve wellbeing, uplift places and ensure existing communities share fully in the benefits of growth.
The strategy was developed with the guiding principle of “getting a better deal for the people of Slough.” Now, we are seeking your feedback on the strategy and its key themes to ensure it reflects the needs and aspirations of all. Your input will help refine our plans and guide our actions to build a fair, inclusive, and sustainable economy that leaves no one behind. You can read the full strategy below:
